This painting was Inspired by Norman Rockwell’s Self-Portrait that appeared in the February 13, 1960 Issue of the POST.  For the fun of it, I initially thought about capturing a dog, painting a portrait of a human; however, when I saw the Noman Rockwell painting, I was sold on the idea of painting a self-portrait similar to his famous painting.  My goal was to achieve a lite and somewhat whimsical dog portrait; I hope I’ve achieved that.
